Mauritius is a perfect year round destination with only two seasons and minimal difference between them. Summer is from November to April with temperatures up to 34ºC on the coast. Humidity is highest from December to April remaining pleasant on the coast where the air circulates. Cyclones can occur infrequently between January and March typically lasting 2-3 days with strong winds and heavy rain. During April to October the temperature is lower by a few degrees; there is plenty of sun and it is a pleasant time to visit. Sea temperature varies between 28ºC in summer and 24ºC in winter
A visa is not required by EU and US citizens however, other nationalities may need a visa – please enquire. All visitors must have a valid passport and return or onward ticket
Vaccinations are not normally required although an international vaccination certificate against yellow fever is required if arriving from an infected country
The unit of currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR) with an indicative exchange rate of GBP 1 = MUR60. Major credit cards are accepted at hotels and for cash withdrawals at larger banks
The official language of Mauritius is English while French is widely spoken as well as Creole by the locals
